Synopsis

Dax Davies has one job to fulfill in the Davies household. Earn money at the family business. The problem is that the family business was illegal underground fighting.

From a young age, Dax and his brothers are groomed to become money earners in their father’s club. Broken bones and bruises are commonplace. Their father pits the brothers against each other to ‘toughen them up’ for the ring, using his rules to bend his sons to his will. His future is in the cage, not on stage where he dreams of making music.

Kate Campbell loves one thing in life. Well, two. Soccer and Dax Davies. Growing up in the poorest part of London, soccer is her personal escape from reality and from the fact that Dax doesn’t seem to know she exists. She figures if she can be good enough at soccer, maybe she can get away from Hackney, and leave the poverty behind.

Kate doesn’t plan on ever getting to know Dax as more than a passing acquaintance. In fact, she isn’t meant to go with her friend to Dax’s father’s business, but that one night changes everything.

***This is book 2 in the Sphere of Irony Series. It can be read as a standalone. This is a spin-off of the Famous Series***

Excerpt

Dax and Kate’s 1st kiss. Kate’s POV.

Before I can blink, Dax’s huge, calloused hands are framing my face and his mouth brushes across mine. At first it’s just a whisper, a tease, the contact barely there. Then, I hear him inhale sharply and his lips press down forcefully, melding with mine, urging me to open up with quick flicks of his tongue. I melt against his solid body as he dominates the kiss, completely under his spell to do with as he wishes. It seems to go on and on—a small slice of paradise in this blighted spot of East London.

When he finally pulls back, greedily stealing a few more nips at my mouth, he closes his eyes and moans. “I knew you’d taste like heaven. You’re an angel, I just knew it.” His voice is so quiet I wonder if he meant to say it out loud.

Naturally, I stand there like an idiot, saying nothing… doing nothing. I’ve been kissed into complete stupidity.

Dax swipes the pad of his thumb over my damp lips. “See you at school tomorrow.” Without giving me a single hint of what he’s thinking, he turns and leaves. I touch my mouth, running a finger over the same spot Dax touched. My heart leaps into my throat, fluttering so fast I fear it may explode.

Great. I’m ruined. My first kiss and it was nothing less than brilliant. Dax Davies just ruined me for every other man from now until the day I die.

Michelle's Review
If you’ve read the other Famous Series, you have already meet yummilicious Ryker Bancroft.  I liked how this book was a little bit different from the other Famous Series.  You get the sexy times and how he and Leah fall in love, but you also get the dark side of being famous.  My heart broke for Ryker and his PTSD after a horrific situation at a premiere for one of his films.  The guilt that he had endured and suffered makes you think about the real life Hollywood celebrities out there.  Let’s face it everyone, they are real people, with real feelings.  They were Joe Schmoo or Plain Jane before they were  “famous”.

Ryker’s struggles were hard to read and I just wanted to go inside my Ipad and hug him.  Yet, thankfully with the help of a good therapist and Leah being by his side, he really flourishes and takes all necessary precautions of being famous.  You can read this as a standalone, since it’s really a novella, but I would recommend you read the entire Famous Series.  You get a more detail description on the life of a celebrity and the struggles they must deal with on a daily basis.

At the end of the book, please read Heather’s Random End of Book Stuff, she puts everything in perspective regarding celebrities.  Thank you Heather.

Title: Already Famous (Famous #4)
Author: Heather Leigh
Genre: New Adult
Length: 350 pages
Rating: 4.5 stars

Synopsis
Drew Forrester is a regular guy from Boston, MA with an unusual job. His work keeps him from getting close to anyone, unwilling to give his trust, especially after a terrible betrayal when he left home at nineteen to pursue his dream.

He throws himself into his work and his favorite way of releasing his frustrations, Brazilian Ju Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. He resorts to short term hook-ups, figuring he’ll be alone forever.

When a gorgeous redhead literally falls into his life, he decides that it’s fate and pursues her relentlessly. But this girl is seriously damaged, and keeps secrets that he doesn’t understand and can’t get her to reveal. Her lack of trust and seeming paranoia about letting anyone get close to her leads Drew to keep some secrets of his own.

This is a companion novel to Relatively Famous, told from Drew’s point of view.

Michelle's Review
Hello there wonderful followers of the blog, so if you have read my previous reviews regarding The Famous Series by Heather Leigh, then you already know how much I really loved this series.  So when I heard Heather was writing a 4th book with Drew’s POV, I had to snatch it up.  As you read from the synopsis, this is the companion novel to Relatively Famous (Book #1), same storyline but with Drew’s POV.  I love reading alternating POVs between the main characters, especially a males POV.

Ok on to the good stuff right.  You already know how Sydney had no idea who the hell Drew (or rather Andrew Forrester) was when she literally fell in front of the gym he works out of.  When Drew meets Sydney for the first time, he was apprehensive, like is she going to be a stalker, crazy fan or groupie.  When Drew finally realizes that she really does not know who he really is, he is really intrigued.  It so good to be himself with a woman and not having her go bat shit crazy around him.

Drew cannot seem to stop thinking about Sydney, so ever so smoothly, he asked his driver where did he drop off the hottie with the body.  Turns out, Ms. Sydney lives 2 blocks away from him and his driver ever so efficiently hands him a napkin of her favorite coffee shop.  So after a few days, Drew makes the drastic effort to be at said coffee shop (and not look like a crazy stalker himself), he just makes sure he is incognito just in case some of his crazy fans do recognize him.  He wears what Sydney calls his “repellant outfit” so he doesn’t stand out.  Moving ahead, they are having a wonderful conversation, Sydney’s, BFF Leah’s, stops by, tells her why all the commotion at the coffee shop, when Drew hears the name Adam Reynolds.  You already know the deets on this part, but you get Drew’s perspective for his hatred towards Adam.

Drew is intrigued and fascinated with Sydney and he wonders why she is so apprehensive towards all things celebrity.  He’s afraid of telling her who he truly is because he really enjoys her company.  In his mind, he’s already in love with her because she’s so refreshing.

Drew plans quiet dinners, getaways wherein no one can recognize him, etc., you know the bit.  You see also see he walks on eggshells so he doesn’t freak Sydney out about his “famous” status.  You also will see how and why Drew is so over-the-top protective, alpha, and downright romantic.  At times I wanted to punch him because he was extremely jealous or his temper would get the best of him.  I times I wanted to punch him for his caveman ways, but hey, he’s a keeper in my book.

Yet, through this read, I fell in love all over again with Drew.  He is definitely BBF material ladies.  I’m so glad I got to read his POV.  I think Ms. Heather might give us some novellas on Drew and Sydney’s journey, I really hope she does.  I liked them so much.

Synopsis

An emotional reunion with her father brings Sydney a peaceful feeling that she hasn’t experienced in a long time. Her contentment vanishes quickly with a single phone call. When Sydney finds out that Drew is keeping something huge from her, she throws herself into work to avoid facing the problem.

The stress of Drew’s secret, combined with 12 years of carefully constructed denial, comes crashing down spectacularly and Sydney ends up in a hopeless place, alone and afraid. Can she accept her past and face the future? Or is it easier to remain in the dark?

Michelle's Review
Again, I will start off my review like I did for my review for book 2, if you haven’t read book 1 or 2, do not pass go and do not collect $200. You will be so lost if you do not read those 2 books first. Ok enough of bullying you all lol.

Well after the most romantic proposal left off in book 2, the story moves on forward. Sydney is finally getting to see her father again after 12 years of no contact. If you have read book 2, you already know why her parents decided no communication with her very famous father, Reid Tannen was for her best interest. I was so happy to finally to see the reunion with her father happen. Especially more so now that she is with Drew. When Sydney finally sees her dad, it’s as if the 12 years apart didn’t happen. Sydney had her daddy back, and her dad has his “heartbreaker”.

Sydney and Drew are joyfully blessed being engaged, but of course, he wants to shout it through the rooftop. Sydney is still trying to being back in the public eye with such a public figure and “Sexiest Man Alive”, she just wants to savor her engagement without the prying eyes of the world upon their relationship.

Drama continues to surround Sydney and Drew in the likes of Kiera Radcliffe. Boy I hated her in book 1, 2 and now 3. This bitch knows no bounds. Oh and the lovely Brit, Adam Reynolds. I had my little issues with Adam, I wasn’t sure what his true agenda was towards Sydney. He and Drew have a volatile past and I wanted to know exactly why they were so antagonistic towards each other. You too will finally find out why they hate each other so much. Of course, Adams does not make things easy by acquiring a $29 million dollar penthouse that he wants Sydney to redesign. Yep, let the fireworks begin people.

The ups and downs between Sydney and Drew’s relationship is off the scale. They are both so stubborn. I do love how Sydney is so much better with dealing being in the public eye, and being more assertive, but she really was trying my patience for being so petulant at times. Oh but Drew he’s so damn alpha and bossy. I understand him trying to protect Sydney, he still feels so guilty from the attack and the miscarriage during his movie premiere. I get it, but come on dude, open communication with your woman damn it!

Through it all her BFF Leah (whom I loved and is dating a famous actor herself, Ryder Brancroft), has always been her rock and voice of reason. I wished Sydney would have listened to Leah, maybe some of the unnecessary drama wouldn’t have happened.

Through it all, Sydney and Drew finally get their HEA. During his speech during his Oscar acceptance was very sweet and beautiful.

Here are some of my favorite Drew quotes, enjoy:

Bossy Drew – “You like that, don’t you? Getting fucked by me, held down while I take what I want?”

Real Alpha Drew – “I need to make sure you’re ready for me because I’m not going to be gentle.”

I really enjoyed reading Heather’s Famous Series. Thanks Yaya for introducing me to her writing. This book in particular was better paced. I cannot wait to read more of Heather’s stuff in the future. I’m going to miss Sydney and Drew.

Title: Absolutely Famous (Famous series #2)

Rating: 4 stars

Synopsis
***Warning, contains language and situations for mature readers. Appropriate for adults age 18+***
When 24 year-old Sydney Allen fell for the sexy Drew Forrester, it threw her life into chaos.
The daughter of Hollywood royalty, Sydney had been hiding her identity from the world since her parents’ tumultuous and very public divorce when she was 12.
Dating Drew forced her back into the spotlight to face some of her old demons. Now, she has to relearn how to live with the fame that she ran from for so long. Can her relationship with Drew survive the scrutiny?
When a media scandal that spans three countries and two continents threatens to destroy them and the people they love most, Sydney needs to decide if she’s strong enough to weather the storm that comes with being famous.
*Absolutely Famous is second in the Famous Series. You must read Relatively Famous before reading this book*

Michelle's Review
Before reading this review, if you haven’t read book 1, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Go purchase book 1 (chessy grin).

So book 2 leaves off where book 1 ends. Sydney finds out that Drew is none other than famous actor and Sexiest Man Alive Andrew Forrester. But to Sydney, he is just Drew, the man she fell in love with before she actually knew who or what he did for a living. They are in Vancouver, Canada where Drew is filming his next film. After the drama that unfolded in book 1, Drew wants Sydney as close to him as possible.

As you already know, in book 1, Sydney hated all things about her famous parents and being in the public eye, yet she is committed to her relationship with Drew and will learn to live with the scrutiny of being in the public eye again. Of course, there will always be drama regardless. As much as Drew tries to protect Sydney, there is always something (or rather someone, yeah bitch Kiera, I’m talking about you) who will try to sabotage Sydney and Drew’s relationship.

Sydney gets another opportunity to have input on another club, but it’s in England. She figures she and Drew need some time apart from each other and the wandering tabloids. So off to England Sydney goes. I loved how in this book Sydney had “grown up” a lot. She was so terrified even of her own shadow in book 1, she really put her big girl panties on.

The new project manager for the club though has the hots for Sydney. Olivia Clarke at first comes off very standoffish towards Sydney. Later, he sees that Sydney is not your typical “pampered princess because mommy and daddy are famous” and he really takes a liking to her (I mean big time). Sydney’s heart only belongs to Drew.

Drama continues to follow Sydney in England. Lots of life situations that somehow the tabloids get a hold of and for the life of her, Sydney cannot understand how they know so much intimate details. I will leave it at that because you have to read what sought of fuck up things people will do to invade a celebrity’s privacy. (I am guessing this is true in real life for celebrities).

I loved reading the journey Sydney and Drew are taking together as a couple. I liked how fast paced this book was from the first book. I did not want to put this book down at all. I really enjoy Heather’s style of writing that’s for sure. I cannot wait to dive into book 3 and see the continuation of Sydney and Drew’s love story.

I will leave you with some of my favorite quotes from Drew:

This quote comes when Drew finally becomes intimate again with Sydney in Canada after her attack. “God baby, I’ve missed so much. I need to know you’re still mine.” I love vulnerable Drew.

Then you get swoon-worthy, romantic, panty dropping Drew: “You’re not getting fucked, Sydney, I’m making love to you.”

And my all time favorite, Alpha Drew: I’m not done with you yet, you wanted to get fucked hard.”

Relatively Famous

Title: Relatively Famous (Famous Series #1)
Author: Heather Leigh
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Length: 341 pages
Rating: 4 stars

Synopsis
*****Warning*****
This is NOT your typical Hollywood romance. There are NO virgins falling for actors. There are NO celebrities falling for the girl next door. What there IS, is a damaged girl who is rescued by the sexy Drew Forrester. Can they get past her secret? Or his?

Sydney Allen is trying to be your average 24 year old New Yorker. It’s hard to be average though when your mother is Evangeline Allen, an Oscar winning actress known as “America’s Sweetheart” to moviegoers across the globe. It’s even harder to be average when your dad is Reid Tannen, Hollywood Bad Boy and one of the highest paid actors in the world.
Their divorce when Sydney was 12 years old was set off by a series of haunting incidents that left Sydney scarred mentally and physically. Hollywood destroyed her parents’ marriage and almost destroyed her. She hasn’t owned a TV, read magazines or watched movies since the divorce, refusing to take part in an industry that brought her so much pain.

Now 12 years after her mother took her from LA and hid her in New York to keep her safe, no one but her best friend Leah knows who Sydney is or that her parents are famous movie stars and she’s determined to keep it that way. She guards her identity fanatically, not letting anyone get close enough to her to find out who she is.

When Sydney meets the gorgeous but mysterious Drew Forrester at a run down gym in Hell’s Kitchen, her life changes. It’s time for her to decide if he’s worth sharing her secret with, or if she’s better off being alone forever. Or maybe she’ll find out that she’s not the only one hiding something. Dating Drew, Sydney is forced to confront all of her fears at once; celebrity, fame, tabloids, stalkers. Can she survive another high profile exposure to the world?

Michelle's Review
24 year-old Sydney Allen hates all things Hollywood.  The paparazzi, the glamor, the gossip, all of it.  She doesn’t even own a TV or even goes to the movies.  Why, you may wonder, me too.  Her parents are very famous actors who went through a very public divorce.  Before the divorce, her parents were so famous that it got very scary for Sydney with being followed by paparazzi and crazy stalkers.  So after her father was caught on camera having a tryst, her mother packed their bags and moved to New York City.

Moving towards the present, Sydney has become a sought out interior designer.  Sydney is so damaged and broken due to her past upbringing in Hollywood.  On a run one day, she accidentally slips on ice and falls in front of a gym.  A gentleman who saw her fall, takes her inside the gym to clean up her knee.  Upon entering, Sydney sees the most gorgeous man she has every laid her eyes upon.  He introduces himself as Drew.  He helps clean up her injury.   Sydney cannot help her attraction for this stranger.

Sydney cannot seem to get rid of the nightmares from her past and also the sexy stranger she had encounter, although those are more dreams than nightmares.  When visiting her best friend Leah’s coffee shop, who does she come upon but her sexy stranger, Drew.  The coffee shop is unusually crowded so she sits next to Drew. They chat for awhile when her BFF Leah comes over with a magazine (which almost makes Sydney bolt mind you) as to why her little coffee shop has gotten so much attention.  I will leave it at that.  Drew notices Sydney’s aversion to anything that is in print, he wants to know more about Sydney.

Drew is your typical Alpha male.  He’s hot and very protective.  I loved that about him.  He is also very caring and take cares of what is his.

“Patience, Sydney. I want to savor you. I can’t get enough of your skin, your smell, the feel of your body. Let’s discovery everything about each other.” And when he gets his caveman on, you get “Look at me, Sydney. I want you to watch me as I fuck you.” “I like bossy Drew.”

Yeah I loved bossy Drew too. Yet, you know he is hiding something big from Sydney. With Sydney being all wishy washy and not asking too many personal questions because that way she didn’t have to answer any of her own, I kept wondering what is Drew’s M.O. here?

I really enjoyed this book, there were times that the author could have speed up the read and cut a lot of useless information (IMHO). I was really frustrated with Sydney at times.  I get that her reasons for privacy, but she needed to “man up” put her “big girl panties” on and tell Drew what had happened in her past.  I loved her BFF Leah, she is the voice of reason for Sydney.  There is a cliffy here but it’s more like a continuation of their love story.

– Michelle
