One week. No future. No past. No more.
Alexandria Collins has one week to live carefree—no ghosts of her past or pressures of her future haunting her. Reinventing herself as “Charli,” she is knocked off her feet by a sexy, mysterious man who brings her pleasure like she never imagined. With her heart at stake, she forgets that decisions made in the dark of night reappear in the bright light of day.
“Some of my tastes are unique. They aren’t for everyone. I understand that.”
Lennox “Nox” Demetri is wealthy, confident, and decisive—he knows what he wants. From the first time he sees Charli at an exclusive resort, he knows he wants her. Although he is usually the one to make the rules, together they agree on one:
One week. No more.
When betrayal comes from those closest to Alexandria, she must decide how far she is willing to go to survive. Choices are not always easy, especially when they involve the heart, body, and soul. After all, Infidelity is a business, and some rules are meant to be broken.
“Is it really cheating if you’re doing it to yourself?”

BETRAYAL is a full-length novel and the first of five in the INFIDELITY series.
Is it possible to chase your drams while giving up part of yourself?
In the first book of a five part series, the author takes us on a journey of identity, fake and real, and how compromising that identity can be made for both good and bad reasons. Careful crafted, this story drew me to two worlds, both playing a part in changing the course of the heroine’s life, while keeping me guessing until the last page.
Alexandra (Alex) was raised by a controlling set of parents who planned out her life, down to the clothes she was to wear. She was able to escape that life temporarily, attempting to control her future as Alex, a college student at Stanford. But she didn’t really “reinvent” until a weekend vacation with her friend, when she takes on the name “Charli”. It is then that she pushes herself out of her comfort zone to take chances at the hands of mysterious man.
There are truly two sides to this story. Past (six weeks prior) and Present.
In the past, Alex/Charli has a sexy fling with Nox (we are unaware if this is his real name).
“Knox?” I repeated his name, more like a question. “Like Fort Knox?”
“In some ways, but without the K. I do however have a thing for locks and security.”
In the present, she has a predetermined future with Bryce (a childhood family friend and former boyfriend).
In the past, Alex was able to let go of her inhibitions.
In the present, she is held by judgments and ridiculous expectations.
In the past, she is set free.
In the present, she is trapped.
But the past, and the week of escape came to and end.
He’d made Charli into someone Alex or Alexandria would never be. Because of him I’d cheated on myself. And I loved it for it.
Alex’s goal to continue her education at Columbia and become a lawyer, is challenged by both her past and present. What risks is she willing to take to succeed?
While I got the sense that the past would come to the present, I didn’t expect the ending twist. A whole series of plot scenarios opened with that twist, which should make this a very entertaining series.
Although I can’t tell you too much about the plot without giving things away, I can say that the author has built a unique story with a relevant twist. Both the past and present evokes strong emotions from the reader, with heat and passion in one, and fear and hatred in another. There are characters you will love and hate, as they challenge Alex’s identity. There are a lot of unknowns for Alex at the end of this installment. What we do know is that she needs to stay far and clear from her parents, and with one signature, her life course is forever changed.
This book/series is noted as dark romance, and while there are hints of what may be to come, I didn’t feel this first book to be dark. So if you are hesitant to read the series because of that, or some belief that there is cheating, don’t be. Do yourself a favor and read this book!
*An ARC was received for an honest review.
“Just know, Miss Charli, no last name, the next time you break one of my rules, I won’t respond as lightly.”
“You won’t?” I asked, more aroused than curious. “What exactly does that mean?”
He moved closer, seductively teasing my breasts with the presence of his wide chest. “I guess we’ll need to find that out together.”
I had to lift my chin to see his eyes. The light blue sparkled with suggestions. The longer I stared, the more a part of me wanted to find out exactly what he had in mind. There was also a part of me that knew that wasn’t a good idea. I shrugged nonchalantly. “Then I guess I better not break any of your rules.”
“Where’s the fun in that?” he asked.
“Oh, I believe I can be all kinds of fun.” I gasped as he pulled me nearer. My nipples—the ones that had softened during our conversation—were now hard nubs burning with desire as they were pressed against his broad chest. That wasn’t our only connection that made my insides tighten. Lower, his hardening erection pushed against my stomach.
