But as Beaux’s past begins to put their relationship—and their lives—at risk, Tanner’s determination to find the truth puts them both in jeopardy.
He’s ready to chase her to the ends of the earth to find out if what they had was real, or if the danger surrounding them was just an exquisite heat fated to burn out.
I have had numerous people recommend K. Bromberg to me and have had some her reads on my TBR list, well I finally was able to dive into her world with Hard Beat. The writing was spot on and you didn’t miss anything within the plot line even with the twist and turns and witty banter.
Tanner is your alpha male through and through. He is handsome, smart, witty and broody which makes any hot blooded female fall for him instantly. Tanner is going back to his beat after suffering a loss that turned his world upside down. He wants to immerse himself into work so that he doesn’t have to suffer within his own silence.
What he never expects in the middle of a work mission is to meet someone that will give him a run for his money whom happens to be his colleague.
BJ is a no nonsense, charismatic, gorgeous woman who gives Tanner a dose of his own medicine which is what he needs to get out of his funk. you can sense the relief in Tanner with BJ around. She is helping him heal, in more ways than one. *wink wink*
They are literally in the thick of it, with their pasts, present locations and their feelings. Danger is evident in every ounce of their lives. Everything is extreme and they come together amongst all of this. Their dynamic with each other and ping pong of conversations is felt from beginning to end. You can see yourself in their setting and what they are experiencing in the most extreme of ways. Tanner is quick to fall but this time around he became guarded in a sense because he wants to make sure that it is real and that is refreshing.
If you like fast paced, heart wrenching, angst with some sexy thrown in look no further!
