Book Review: When I Fall by J. Daniels

Title: When I Fall (Alabama Summer #3)
Author: J. Daniels
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Romantic Comedy
Length: 342 pages
Rating: 4.5 stars

From NY Times and USA Today bestselling author, J. Daniels, book three in the Alabama Summer series.

For the past nine years, I’ve kept my heart as far away from my dick as possible.

Those two can’t be anywhere near each other. They don’t play nice, and one of them undoubtedly winds up getting hurt.

Not my dick. My dick is good.

The women I take home know exactly what they’re getting from me—sex. Nothing more. At least, that’s what’s supposed to happen. The sweet brunette from Kentucky I set my sights on tonight shouldn’t have been any different. I had her right where I wanted her. Where I needed her. But when my past comes walking into McGill’s pub, the woman in my arms decides to take things to a whole new level, putting me into a situation I never saw coming.

My heart is about to get fucked. My dick can sit this one out.

Warning: this book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content. When I Fall can be read as a standalone novel.

Michelle's Review

I have read Ms. Daniels’ Sweet Series and this is my first Bama Boys series. Holy heck I was not expecting the filthy mouth on Reed Tennyson! Oh and the boy is Kinky with a Capital K! Little did Reed know that sweet Beth Davis would put his playboy self out to pasture. You see, typical male that Reed is, he doesn’t want anything to do with relationships. He wants to bang his way through Alabama and call it a day. It has been nine years since his last relationship and would like to keep it that way, thank you very much. Beth is new in town having discovered her only living relative live in Alabama. Beth’s story is a little sad, yet you will fall in love with her.

When Beth meets Reed at McGill’s, he’s is all flirty, yet when his ex rolls into the bar and Beth notices his tension, she will do anything in her power to get that sweet sexy smile back from Reed. After their lip lock, Reed and his manly member (a/k/a dick) cannot seem to stop thinking about Beth. The filthy things that run across Reed’s mind are just panty melting. His internal thoughts and discussions with said penis are downright dirty and funny. Beth gives it good and she gets it, my girl.

There was a funny yet embarrassing situation wherein Reed could not remember getting it on with Beth that was priceless. Yet when he was sober enough and those two got it on with the sexy times, holy hell. Be ready to have your B.O.B. on the ready ladies.

I loved how there was a certain friendship between these two characters. I found myself rooting for them throughout. I knew that Reed would eventually see how truly Beth was worth his time. It took a kick in the pants for Reed, but in the end, they both get their HEA. Oh for those who have read Ben and Luke’s story, they make an appearance with Mia and Tessa. There was a heartbreaking moment with Mia, but worked out in the end. I need to catch up on these boys!
