Debating Number Ten by Amalie Silver
His goal was ten. Ten notches on his bed post before seducing his debate coach, Miss Shields. Will Simon reach his ideal woman, or will he end up Debating Number Ten?
Simon Blackwell III, the star of his debate team. Yet his goal in life is to get his Number 10 on his bed post and that would be Ms. Katie Shields. Not only is she his English teacher, but she also runs the debate team. There’s some serious chemistry between these two. Arleen Carlson throws a curveball to those plans. He meets Arleen one night and he sees how lonely she is. Simon tries to strike a conversation with Arleen, but she’s so not interested. The next day in class, guess who enters the classroom, none other than Arleen. Simon makes sure to meet up with Arleen at their rendezvous area. She makes up a rule about not discussing school. Simon has these feelings for this girl. He even forgets that he’s in lust with Ms. Shields. They are paired off to be debate members, but he can’t seem to have her open up to him. When she does, he finds out why she’s so standoffish towards him and he goes about doing everything he can to prove to her he can change. This was a wonderful read, you will not like Simon at first, I don’t want to put too many spoilers, but in the end he redeemed himself in my book. There isn’t a cliffy, so you get a nice story.
Deviation by M.C Cerny
Deviation: an action, behavior, or condition that is different from what is usual or expected. example: Edith and Jack deviate from the acceptable student teacher relationship.
Edith is on scholarship and she’s barely passing her Statistics class. She needs at least a B or better in order to keep her scholarship. Speaking of said scholarship, she barely makes due with it since it only pays for tuition and not all of her books. She works two part-time jobs and donates blood whenever she can so she can have extra cash. She is very frugal because of her lack of funds. Her Statistics Teacher Assistant announces that their hard ass professor is taking a leave of absence due to health problems and they will be getting a new professor. Of course, Edith is hoping this new teacher isn’t as hard as Mr. Roth. Yea, well wishful thinking right? Enter Jack Hamilton the bane of her high school crush. He’s the one that she’s always fantasized about but couldn’t have. Jack recognizes Edith, and he too remembers her. He almost quit teaching because of her. He’s always wanted her back then, but knew he couldn’t have her. The attraction is undeniable. They both want each other, but at what cost? Certain events take place that will make or break their relationship. “I want you, Edith. I want to bury myself in your wet pussy and feel you clamp around me. He thrusts his hips into mine, grinding against me.” This book also ends in a cliffhanger, but according to the author, we should have the second installment in early 2015. I really liked this novella and want more of Jack and Edith.

This was a very quick novella, we get the full story to, The Life Plan, early 2015. I cannot wait.

But the lie about Jill’s age comes to the forefront and Eli is a little peeved. Jill is so heartbroken and doesn’t know what to do. She goes back to school and her teacher announces that he must take a leave of absence and his son will be taking his place. Do you hear the suspense music in the background, right? Guess who’s the substitute teacher? Yep, Eli!!!!! This book ended in a cliffhanger and we will not get to know what happens to Jill and Eli until November 2015. I really was getting into this novella and when I got to the end and found out that the next installment is not until November 2015, I was a little disappointed. I hope the authors will change their minds, maybe their publisher cannot push it out until then, but we may forget what has happened with such a long gap until the next book IMHO.
Rite of Passage by Mandee Mae
Haley knew she had a lot to learn since she pretty much grew up in a bubble. She just didn’t realize the classroom wasn’t the only place she was going to be taught new and exciting things.
Hailey is a college freshman and on scholarship. She couldn’t wait to start and be away from her strict family that live in Utah. She moves into a home with a bunch of co-eds in the house (3 girls and 3 guys). Hailey so shy at first, but the group welcomes her with open arms. The girls notices that Hailey is very shy and “naïve” about things. Liam, one of the boys that live in the house, takes a liking to Hailey very quickly. Hailey just wants to fit in with the bunch as best as she can. The girls quickly take Hailey under their wings and discuss with Hailey all things sex lol. Let’s just say that these girls definitely educated Hailey on sex. Things start heating up with Hailey and Liam. Hailey finds out about Liam’s past and she feels very connected with him, kindred spirits. Moving 4 years forward and these bunch of co-ed roommates are ready for graduation. Hailey and Liam have an awesome HEA. I will say this, Hailey got her Ph.d in all things sex with this bunch of roommate. There is a great quote in the book by Liam that really puts this book into perspective for Hailey: “Haley. He places his hands on either side of my face so I look directly into his eyes. Everything you’ve done since the day you moved out has been a rite of passage. It was your right to move out on your own. It’s your right to want to go to school to better yourself…and it’s your right to let me do all those wicked things to you that I know you love.” I really enjoyed this novella.

Ms. Maxine Sheppard is the new creative writing teacher. Both Zeek and Zach take a liking to her. Zach is more obvious than Zeek. Ms. Sheppard also spearheads the Mathletics, and somehow, Rachel talks Zeek into becoming a member. He is all too happy to join once he knows that Ms. Sheppard is the one in charge. Zach is trying to figure anyway he can get into Ms. Sheppard’s pants, but is now distracted by a lovely young lady by the name of Amber. Zeek becomes Ms. Sheppard’s intern. He helps her out grading papers and organizing her paperwork, he’s so attracted to her. Well life throws a nice curveball for these two young men. The author left a “TO BE CONTINUED” note at the end, but did not mention when the next installment will be issued. I hope sooner rather than later because I was left hanging. A very good quick read.

His overbearing mother wants Daniel out of Staci’s class. She notices the mutual attraction between these two. She doesn’t want another tragic situation to happen to Daniel like her other son. This novella was also quick and you felt the pain for Daniel. There is a beautiful HEA at the end.

If nothing else the expensive education at St. Christopher’s College should have thoroughly instilled upon Eve Stratton the virtues of avoiding risks. But much like her namesake, all it takes for her resolution to be swayed are the smooth words of a charming devil. And Theodore Drake, her new professor, may as well have come with a warning label. Even though she’s well aware that a relationship could mean ruin for them both, there’s nothing more alluring than the temptation.
Evelyn “Evie” Stratton is trying to get an internship at the arts department at her school. She goes to party the day before her audition and meets the illustrious Theodore Drake. She cannot believe he would be attending this party. He has left the acting world to find happiness in love instead. Instead, he’s back and is the new Theatre Arts Professor and one of the judges for her audition. After an awkward meeting, the next day, Evie auditions. Evie only wants to become a director not necessarily on stage, yet Drake sees the potential in her to becoming an actress on stage. Theodore is intrigued with Evie and wants to help her. The attraction is there for them both, but his soon-to-be ex-wife might throw a curve towards any relationship they might have. This novella ended rather quickly and I really wanted more of a story. I’m not even certain if the author meant to end it the way she did. I was left wondering if there was a continuation of Evie and Theodore’s story. Overall, I did enjoy what little of the story I did read.
